Some parts may be better suited to vacuum forming. This is especially true for larger sized small volume parts or parts with very thin walls. Virtually all thermoplastics can be supplied in sheet form suitable for vacuum forming and due to the relatively low pressures involved the tooling is considerably cheaper than that for injection moulding. We can supply tooling made in our in house toolroom and produce samples from this tooling to a very short time scale. There are some limitations to the parts that can be made with vacuum forming (such as undercuts and deep plunges), but these can often be overcome by clever tooling and post forming processes.
